Each of the following 4 courses is required to earn the VMI certificate through Jefferson Community and Technical College. Upon completion of the program, technologists will have a comprehensive knowledge of sectional anatomy, pathophysiology relevant to post-processing and post-processing tools. Numerous case studies will be completed using standard protocols.
Students interested in completing the certificate program should enroll in VMI200 and VMI210 first. After completion of these courses, students enroll in VMI201 and VMI211.

Emphasis will be placed on identifying anatomical landmarks and describing relative location with appropriate medical terminology. Topics include: head, brain, neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, and upper and lower extremities. Some pathology will be introduced.
- audio/video lectures
- unlimited quizzes to build your skills in identifying anatomy
- additional case studies presented for each chapter
- full instructor interaction
Supertechs must understand anatomy both in 2 and 3 dimensions. This class is the key to your performance as a 3D technologist. With an emphasis on vascular, I will walk you through detailed anatomy from head to toe!
* Check with me to see if this course is transferable to your academic institution. * This is the full 4-credit cross-sectional anatomy course.

VMI201 Course Description:More detailed anatomy of the human body is examined through cross-sectional images. Common disease processes are described including pathophysiology, diagnosis and imaging techniques, and treatment. Topics include atherosclerosis, carotid artery disease, coronary artery disease, stroke, aneurysms and more.
- audio/video lectures
- unlimited quizzes to build your skills in identifying anatomy
- additional case studies presented for each chapter

Supertechs must understand the tools they are using to create the diagnostic images used by physicians. This course is very different from typical 'applications training' provided by a software vendor. Regardless of what software you use, you will learn concepts that make you a better 3D supertech. We will learn best practices and appropriate applications for the various tools available in most software packages.
* Requires the Visage Thin Client (free download is available in the class)

VMI211 Course Description:Standard protocols are reviewed for common CT/CTA studies. Numerous case studies are reviewed with each protocol. Best practices and common mistakes are illustrated for each type of protocol.
- detailed explanations of each protocol
- best practices and common mistakes
- over 60 case studies to complete
- full instructor interaction
By using standard protocols for each case, supertechs provide a consistent set of images for the radiologists and referring physicians. This course is very different from typical 'applications training' provided by a software vendor where techs learn what buttons to push. Regardless of what software you use, you will protocols that you should be able to duplicate on any software package.
